This course is designed to offer educators insight into how students as young as Kindergarten deal with loss. Loss isn’t just grieving for the death of a loved one but the loss of a job, suicide, divorce, boyfriend/girlfriend, loss of your health, etc. The class will discuss the 5 stages of grief as well as many coping methods and strategies for dealing with a loss. The class will provide strategies and interventions for even the youngest of children to help manage their feelings and emotions. Additionally, this course will provide proven methods of dealing with death and feeling blue due to a loss.
