This course is designed to offer educators insight into healthy eating for children at all age levels. Students will examine recent nutritional theory and information as they impact on the health of the individual and the society. Topics will include recommendations for caloric intake as well as examination of different food groups, the new food pyramid and how to shop in a supermarket. Suggestions for healthy snacks in the classroom as well as food ideas for all ages. Discussion will include how food affects performance academically, socially and physically to all age level.
