Rubrics are a wonderful way for teachers to make their expectations clear to both students and parents. New York State assessments often call for teachers to use rubrics for rating/grading purposes. Many districts are starting to move toward the use of rubric rating systems for their report cards, as well.
This course will provide teachers with the knowledge to create their own rubrics for various assignments in their classrooms. Enrollees will also be given the task to grade several projects, DBQ's, and ELA responses using a rubric. Enrollees will leave this course with the ability to create clear and concise rubrics to use in their classrooms.
